Issues and Objectives are:

  
  AGRICULTURE  
 
  • Expedite payment of Farm Grants and Subsities
  • Reinstate Early Retirement Scheme for Farmers
  • Reinstate Installation Aid for Farmers
  • Introduce new incentive Schemes for the production of Home Grown Products, (Import Substitution).
 
  EDUCATION  
 
  • Additional funding for the construction of new schools and the improvement of existing buildings.
  • Reduce pupil class sizes both in Primary and 2nd level schools.
  • Modify Back to Education Allowance.
  • Oppose the introduction of 3rd Level fees.
  • Provide additional funding for Adult Literacy Programmes.
  • More Resources for Special Needs Children.
 
  ENTERPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT  
 
  • Stimulus package for New Industries and Job Creation, ensuring that adequate working capital is available to Businesses and Entrepreneurs.
  • Promote and market Tourism for the West of Ireland.
 
  HEALTH SERVICE  
 
  • Reduce Hospital Waiting Lists.
  • Abolish Two-Tier Health System.
  • Ensure that Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe is retained and adequately funded.
  • Abolish Means Test for Carers’ Allowance.
  • Oppose Government cut backs affecting the Health Service.
  • That the Grove Hospital, Tuam, be made a Priority in the next programme for Government.
 
  HOUSING  
 
Additional funding for
 
  • Affordable Housing.
  • Social Housing.
  • Housing Aid for Older People.
  • Adaptation and Mobility Grant for the Disabled.
 
  INFRASTRUCTURE  
 
  • Provide adequate Water and Sewerage Schemes.
  • Connect Natural Gas Supply.
  • Upgrade / Provide High Speed Broadband.
  • Complete Western Rail Link Corridor to Tuam and Claremorris.
  • Complete construction of N18 /N17 Motorway from Gort via Tuam to Claremorris.
  • Additional funding for the upgrade of Local and County Roads.
  • Sport and Recreational facilities for the Community.
 
  SOCIAL WELFARE  
 
  • Abolish Means Test for Carers’ Allowance.
  • Oppose Government cut backs in Social Welfare services.
